How to Use the BuySSL SSL Wizard to Find the Right Certificate*

With dozens of SSL certificate options available—ranging from basic Domain Validation (DV) to Wildcard and Extended Validation (EV)—finding the exact certificate for your needs can be challenging.

The BuySSL SSL Wizard is an interactive tool that guides you through a few quick questions about your website, domain setup, and trust requirements to automatically recommend the best SSL certificate for your business.

Step 1: Launch the SSL Wizard

1. Open your web browser and navigate to select.buyssl.lk (or click the SSL Wizard button on the top menu of BuySSL.lk).

2. The interactive decision-making tool will open on your screen.

Step 2: Select What Type of Certificate You Are Looking For

On the first step of the wizard ("What type of certificate are you looking for?"), choose the option that matches your security objective:

• SSL/TLS Certificate: Choose this option if you need to secure website domains, IP addresses, web portals, or web applications with HTTPS encryption.

• Code Signing: Choose this option if you are a software developer or publisher who needs to digitally sign software, executables (.exe, .msi, .apk), and applications to eliminate browser warning popups.

• Email & Document Signing: Choose this option if you need to encrypt email communications (S/MIME) or digitally sign legal, corporate, or financial documents.

Step 3: Specify Your Domain Structure

Tell the Wizard how many domains or subdomains you need to protect under a single certificate:

• Single Domain Name: Select this if you only need to secure one domain (e.g., example.com and [www.example.com](https://www.example.com)).

• Multiple Sub-Domains (Wildcard): Select this if you need to secure a main domain and all its subdomains (e.g., example.com, mail.example.com, shop.example.com).

• Different Domain Names (Multi-Domain / SAN): Select this if you want to secure multiple completely different domain names (e.g., example.com, example.lk, example.org) on a single SSL certificate.

Step 4: Indicate Required Customer Trust & Validation Level

Select the level of business verification and trust indicators you wish to display:

• Basic Trust (DV): You just need standard HTTPS encryption as quickly as possible without submitting company paperwork.

• Medium Trust (OV): You want your registered company name to appear inside the certificate details so visitors know you operate a legitimate business.

• Highest Trust (EV): You want to activate the highest trust indicators, such as company name display and high warranty coverage, to maximize conversion rates and prevent phishing.

Step 5: Review Recommendations & Purchase

1. Once you answer the questions, the Wizard will instantly generate a tailored list of recommended SSL certificates (e.g., Sectigo PositiveSSL, RapidSSL Wildcard, DigiCert EV).

2. Review the key features displayed for each recommendation:

   • Annual Price

   • Warranty Coverage

   • Issuance Time

3. Click the Buy Now or Order button next to your preferred option.

4. You will be redirected to the BuySSL Client Area to complete your order.
